1st Quarter Accomplishments
Hey group!
I hope that everyone is starting to experience momentum as they attack their debts and show them to the Exit. I'm curious to know what kind of progress you've been able to make in the 1st quarter of 2009. Have you been able to pay off a debt? Have you paid off multiple debts? Have you gotten creative to free up cash flow? Please share your successes (or struggles) and allow the group to celebrate and encourage you along the way!

So far in 2009 I've paid off about $7,500 and I see the light at the end of the tunnel! I have $12,500 remaining from my original $70,000 school loan debt and I'm hoping I can pay it off by June. Although there is a salary freeze at my company, we did get bonuses which helped propel me a bit.
I'm trying to be creative in coming up with extra cash to hit my goal of June. I've decided that there's nothing I need more than paying off my debt. So where I used to save $40 a month for clothes I've put that on hold. Same with my $10 per month of blow money. I'm just trying to with the bare minimum for the next few months so I can be debt free!!! -

Wow Rachel - you're doing great! Thanks for sharing your progress with the group. It's pretty sweet knowing that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train. Your sacrifices are definitely paying off!
I worked with some people yesterday who left my office to go put a "For Sale" sign up in their front yard. I also met with a couple last week who is overhauling all of their insurance policies (getting the coverage they need and dumping products they don't) to free up cash flow to get out of debt. So there are plenty of others out there making the tough decisions to reach their goals. -
